The journey to find the eighth wonder of the world: My Sigiriya experience
Traveling is something that adds new experiences to life. Recently, I visited Sigiriya, one of the most prestigious and historical places in Sri Lanka. I felt like I had traveled back to the days of ancient kings.
The first thing that catches our eye upon entering the grounds of Sigiriya is the meticulously designed water gardens. It is still a wonder to this day how such fountains and ponds were created with the technology of the time.
The most important place I came across while climbing the rock was the Mirror Wall and graffiti. It's hard to imagine how the Sigiriya graffiti was written there.
Then, as I climbed the spiral staircase, I saw the world-famous Sigiriya Rock Murals. The colors and beauty of those murals still stand today are amazing.
As I climbed, I saw the enormous lion's paw, a large rock carved in the shape of a lion, and I felt as if King Kashyapa's glory was being proclaimed to the world.
Sigiriya is not just a rock, it is a mirror that shows the world the unparalleled talent of our Hela artists and engineers. If you have not yet visited Sigiriya, I invite you to visit this magnificent creation at least once in your life.
Thank you.
